advocacy

Advocacy runs through Jamie’s veins. What began as simply using his voice as an artist to speak out on causes he believed in, transformed into Jamie becoming a registered lobbyist and founding Backstage Strategies. In recent years, Jamie has emerged as a key voice advocating for the creative working class in Tennessee. His unique experience in both arts and government relations allow him to craft solutions and broker conversations that truly honor both worlds. His story and strategies have proven to unite the creative community on behalf of issues across the political spectrum, and his work has resulted in bipartisan laws passed at both the state and local level in Tennessee. Jamie sits on the Board of the Arts & Business Council of Greater Nashville, Chairing their Public Policy Committee. He also Chairs Musicians for a Smokefree Tennessee, a coalition working to end smoking inside all music venues across the state. And most recently, Kent jumped in to join the Steering Committee for the Greater Nashville Music Census. Recently, Jamie was named one of Nashville Business Journal’s “40 Under 40 and one of Nashville Lifestyle’s “Most Fascinating People.
