Jamie Kent’s approach to music and his career has been rooted in entrepreneurship since day one.

A graduate of Babson College with a degree in Entrepreneurship, Kent has been forging a unique path for himself through what he calls “artrepreneurship”.

It began with The Collective, one of the first crowdfunded models in the music industry and a group of fans that invested in Jamie’s career in return for exclusive content and a vote in the major decisions he made. From there, Kent continued to push the boundaries in search of the perfect music business model, and formed a co-venture with an investor to approach Kent’s touring career like a start up.

This company released his #16 Billboard Charting album All American Mutt and helped earned praise from the likes of Rolling Stone and The Huffington Post. Along the way, Kent realized the power in brand partnerships for independent artists, and worked to establish relationships with companies like Bose, Durango Boots, Martin Guitar, and Telefunken Microphones. Cross promoting social media content, new song releases, and products, these brands became an integral part of Kent’s team and allowed him to reach an exponentially greater number of fans.

As time went by, a natural extension of this process began to unfold. Kent found himself brokering endorsement deals with the brands he worked with and bands he loved. He began Producing and curating concerts at major festivals throughout the US, and bringing brands and fans together. And in 2019, he launched The BAM Group, a boutique communications consulting company out of Nashville, rooted in music and marketing. When the pandemic hit and most live music came to a screeching halt, Kent shifted the focus of The BAM Group into that of an advocacy agency. Applying the company’s innovative approach to causes close to Kent’s heart has seen The BAM Group explode in growth in recent years. When combined with his more direct work on policy and government relations (via his sister company Backstage Strategies), Jamie has emerged as a key voice fighting to improve the lives of Tennessee’s creative working class.
